The Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace ordered to reinforce security at the presidential command post installed in Las Tejerías since October of last year to deal with the contingency caused by the prolonged rains.
The reinforcement of security in these facilities is motivated by armed attack that they executed last Sunday against the headquarters of the Cicpc and the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) located in Las Tejerías, explained a source.
They presume that said attack, which took place between Sunday night and Monday morning, was perpetrated by members of the criminal organization founded by Carlos Enrique Gómez Rodríguez, alias El Conejo.
This subject and his criminal group were evicted from Las Tejerías through the operation Gran Cacique Guaicaipuro II that was carried out between February 5 and 9 of last year. Precisely, the attack on Sunday occurs one year after the aforementioned operation where Carlos Revette (El Koki), a key player in the criminal structure that operated at Cota 905, Caracas, was also killed until July 2021, when they were dismantled. with a police deployment similar to that of Las Tejerías.
To counteract the action of El Conejo last Sunday, armored vehicles belonging to the Directorate of Strategic and Tactical Actions of the PNB were sent. The shooting came from the mountainous areas that surround the town and was carried out simultaneously against the PNB Police Station and the Cicpc.
This is the second attack in a week that is carried out against police agencies located in the central region of Venezuela. The first occurred on Wednesday, February 1, in the Carlos Arvelo (Güigue) municipality, Carabobo, where four individuals arrived on a motorcycle at the police headquarters located in front of the mayor’s office and fired at the uniformed officers, three of whom were injured.
