They reinforce security for the Altagracia holidays and the birth of Juan Pablo Duarte

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Government announced this Monday the reinforcement of security operations on the occasion of the holidays of January 21 and 26, where the day of Our Lady of Altagracia and the birth of the father of the country, Juan Pablo Duarterespectively, with a greater deployment of agents, tow trucks, Civil Defense units and stricter road monitoring, focused on the prevention of traffic accidents.

The Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Rafulreported that these actions are part of the prevention and control policy that is executed at the national level.

In this context, he pointed out that during the last weekend of the patron saint’s holidays, the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (Digesett) carried out more than 300 breathalyzer tests, of which 106 were positive, with the application of fines and submissions to justice in accordance with the zero tolerance policy.
