The Government regulated Law 27,159 passed in 2015, which regulates a comprehensive prevention system for sudden death events and established the obligation for public and private spaces with public access, such as sports and cultural establishments, religious centers, casinos, banks and places of work with more than 1,000 employees, to install Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) as well as training for the use of this device.
It did so through Decree 402/2022, published in the Official Gazette, which, among other points, established the creation of a “Registry of Automated External Defibrillators”, which will function within the scope of the National Program for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases. , which has been in operation since June 2011.
In addition, it was determined that the Ministry of Health will be the enforcement authority of the rule and, therefore, will be empowered to issue the complementary and explanatory rules that may be necessary for its implementation.
The Ministers of Health, Carla Vizzotti, and of Science, Technology and Innovation, Daniel Filmus, presented the regulation of the law during an act at the headquarters of the scientific portfolio, located at 2320 Godoy Cruz Street, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo.
In the regulations, stadiums, swimming pools, sports centers and facilities, gyms and any place or event were established as public or private spaces with public access. where physical, competitive or recreational activity, discipline or competition is carried out.

Other spaces included in the law are Mental Health and Addiction establishments and services, gambling venues, bingo halls, casinos, banks, financial and credit entities, as well as amusement parks with capacity, concentration or circulation of more than thousand people per day.
The list also includes international and national transport terminals and stations and shopping centers in both cases with a capacity, concentration or circulation of more than a thousand people per day, as well as entertainment venues, dance venues, party halls , cinemas, theaters and all entertainment establishments.
Social, religious, cultural or educational facilities of public or private management of any modality and level (also with capacity, concentration or circulation of more than a thousand people per day) were also considered; aircraft, boats or long-distance trains, with capacity for one hundred or more people; and hotels, country clubs, campsites, swimming pools, spas and private neighborhoods with a concentration or movement of more than a thousand people per day.
The regulation also included events, exhibitions, museums, tourist places, exhibitions, conference rooms and activities of any kind that convene, concentrate or include more than a thousand people daily; workplaces that employ, in one or more daily shifts, more than a thousand people and offices, dependencies, establishments and any institution and public bodies, not contemplated in the previous paragraph, with a concentration and circulation capacity of more than a thousand people per day.
