MADRID, Spain.- An old recording with the voice of John Lennon was recovered using the artificial intelligence (IA), British musician Paul McCartney told the BBC in an interview with the program Today from Radio 4.
The recording, taken from an old demo recorded on piano in Lennon’s New York apartment, was cleaned up and remastered with the help of an artificial intelligence program, McCartney said.
“It was a demo of John, from which we have worked. (…) In this last recording of The Beatles, we took John’s voice and got it purely through AI. We were then able to mix it, as is normally done. This gives you some freedom”, added this music icon.
“(Peter) Jackson was able to get John’s voice off a small cassette. We had his voice and a piano and we could separate them with the AI, ”he also detailed.
He also announced that the song will be included in what he called “The Beatles’ final album”, which will be released this year.
Although Paul McCartney did not specify the title of the song, according to the BBC It could be a Lennon composition from 1978 called “Now and Then”, which in 1995 had been considered as a possible theme while they were compiling their Anthology, series that chronologically narrates the history of The Beatles through interviews.
The iconic British rock band The Beatles offered their last concert on January 30, 1969. Remembered as a “Rooftop Concert”, since they played from the roof of Apple Corps, their recording studio in London, it lasted about 40 minutes and was an impromptu performance, with workers from the building’s offices and some police officers as audience.
The Beatles influenced his music and style in his generation and they transcended to the later ones as one of the essential bands in the history of music. His success and his musical innovations inspired great musicians.
