A video viralized on social networks shows a boy, approximately two years old, playing hang from the balcony of the 21st floor of a building in Central Station.
The event would have happened last Friday, but it was during this day that the video was known. After the search became known, Carabineros and the Municipality of Central Station would have moved to the place to begin an investigation regarding the images, according to what was recorded. CHV.
The mayor of the commune, Felipe Muñoz, indicated that it is a clandestine nursery without permits and that the municipality sent the information to “the police so that this inspection can be carried out, it is indeed a nursery that does not comply with the measures, fortunately it had a mesh that prevented an accident”.
From Carabineros, they clarified that “there is no police procedure as such, the body in charge of supervising kindergartens and the like is the Superintendency of Education, therefore the Municipality is going to make the complaint ex officio, also as it was learned, the municipality knew time of this”.
Faced with what happened, the Undersecretary for Children, Yolanda Pizarro, told the aforementioned medium that “the word is misconduct. This informal space of care has nothing to do with the reality that today as a government we have in relation to the education of children. I want to emphasize that this is an absolute violation of the rights of boys and girls.”
“This situation could have affected the child’s life, but we must say that there is not enough coverage to care for all the children in the sector. We are coordinating so that this does not happen again, ”she added.
