The general manager of Empresa de Transmisión Eléctrica, SA (ETESA), Carlos Mosquera Castillo, made a call to consume energy rationally and efficiently, through good practices, before the arrival of the El Niño phenomenon.
Mosqueta said that for more than a year they have been strengthening this campaign, internally, in search of improving usage habits and proper, timely maintenance of the equipment.
He stressed that good practices can lead to reductions in their kWh, and in their receipt both in residences and in offices.
Recommended users to:
Turn off the lights that you do not use, especially when leaving the rooms.
Use air conditioners at a temperature of 24°, to ensure low energy consumption. Also, make sure you have good insulation and check for leaks. In this way, you can have an adequate and comfortable temperature of the air conditioners.
Use low consumption lights, especially in areas of continuous use.
Turn off and unplug both desktop computers (PCs) and laptops when not in use.
As for refrigerators that do not have the “No Frost” system, it is recommended to defrost them periodically.
Disconnect the equipment they use, eventually, such as TVs, microwaves, fans, coffee makers, toasters, fryers, pumps, among others.
These suggestions are part of the awareness campaign that the company has undertaken, in view of the arrival of the El Niño Phenomenon, reported the manager of ETESA.
Said campaign is aligned with the State’s energy policy, whose purpose is to guarantee the security of supply, the rational and efficient use of resources and energy in a sustainable manner under criteria of economic efficiency, reliability and quality, protecting the environment and respecting the legal security of investments according to CABINET RESOLUTION No. 66 of June 1, 2022 and that appears in the Official Digital Gazette.
