They recognize the teachers who left traces

References in education, allies and benefactors of the Foundation and directors of schools and colleges that accompany the Ludolecto and Emprender mi Vida Joven projects in Dequení participated.

It should be noted that this contest received 260 applications from teachers from different parts of the country, most of whom were nominated by mothers of students and fellow educators.

Five were the teachers who received this Recognition for their outstanding work during a period of great challenges such as the pandemic.

Let’s meet each of the awardees:

Prof. Laura Domínguez of the La Aurora Subsidized School, of the B° Molino de Luque

Recognized as Master overcoming and resilience

Laura, despite the adversities and limitations imposed by the pandemic, at first she did not know how to use the Zoom platform, she managed to cope with the situation and continued teaching virtually. She even taught parents how to use the platform, always with a smile, which motivated the mother of a student to nominate her for her recognition.

Recognized as Master overcoming and resilience

This teacher could be described as a true warrior, she is in charge of an educational institution, located on the banks of the Paraguay River, on Isla Margarita (Alto Paraguay). Despite all the difficulties they have to go through in the area, she never allowed the teachers and the children to miss out on classes. In times of flooding, she took the children by boat, she never gave up and always stood firm. And thanks to her efforts, the school has improved a lot. She is an example for her colleagues, that’s why they nominated her.

Recognized as Master Creativity

Daysi is a teacher of the initial level, a person with a lot of charisma, who always gives love to her little ones. During the pandemic, she managed to continue teaching and looked for mechanisms that are adapted to educational needs, demonstrating great creative capacity. It was thus that she managed to conquer the hearts of her students from a distance, through interesting animated videos and playful activities.

Recognized as Master innovation/adaptation

Teacher Natalia is an extremely creative teacher dedicated to the task of educating and doing more for her students. She is always attentive not only to academic learning but also to the emotional, economic and spiritual need of the students. The pandemic was a challenge for her from the beginning, and served as a motivation for her colleagues, whom she urged to collaborate in actions such as “Your school at home”, with the preparation of written materials, videos and explanatory audios. She is a charismatic, efficient woman with a vision of the present and the future.

Prof. Leticia Concepción González Mercado of the Caacupemí School of Fe y Alegría, Asunción.

Recognized as Master service vocation

Teacher Leticia is a professional who demonstrates her love and vocation for teaching. She is a native of Mauricio José Troche. Every week she goes to the Caacupemí school, in the Mbiguá area, walking 4 kilometers to get there and teach her history classes in Guaraní to the third cycle. During the pandemic, it was very difficult for her, she was not able to do much with the technology because in the area they have a very low signal, it is the area of ​​the northern marsh, and the families are very humble. Added to this is that the cell phones that her students had were not high-end. However, thanks to the actions of the Fe y Alegría Foundation, articles were provided to students that were collected weekly, completed and then brought to the teacher for correction.

The distinguished Evaluation Committee that was in charge of choosing the teachers was made up of: Patricia Toyotoshi, Director of the Toyotoshi Group; Ramón Maciel, Director of the CIRD Higher Technical Institute; María Fe Dos Santos, Education Officer of Unicef ​​Paraguay; Dario Colmán, Vision Bank Sustainable Development Manager; Luisa Abbate, Foundress of Tierranuestra; María Gross Brown, Marketing Director of AGB Constructora; Oscar Charotti, Executive Director of Together for Education and Carmen Da Costa, Editorial General Manager at Alianza. The evaluation considered impact criteria, situations of protection and overcoming, validity or permanence of the good examples, as well as the context of the pandemic.

In this way, as a closure to the week of childhood and in commemoration of its 37 years, the Dequení Foundation, with the support of the Citizen Educational Observatory, paid tribute to the teachers who, despite the limitations, stood out during the pandemic and did not They stopped promoting learning.
