They raise the amount of Solidarity Income, but issue a warning

This is how the Solidarity Income subsidy will be paid in July

Starting in August and until the end of the year, Solidarity Income beneficiaries will receive an increase in the subsidy, in accordance with the conditions of a new differential payment scheme. Nevertheless, The Department of Social Prosperity (DPS) warns that there would be no resources for this subsidy in 2023.

(Dates for the payment of the Solidarity Income subsidy in July).

According to the adjustments, the increases in payments will be divided as follows:

-If the classification of the Sisbén of beneficiary is A and you have only one household member, you will receive $420,000 instead of $400,000.

-If the classification of the Sisbén of beneficiary is Abut have at least two household members, you will receive $435,000 instead of $400,000.

-If the classification of the Sisbén of beneficiary is B and you have only one household member, you will receive $410,000 instead of $400,000.

-If the classification of the Sisbén of beneficiary is Bbut have at least two household members, you will receive $420,000 instead of $400,000.

-If the beneficiary is still in the Sisbén classification C will continue to receive $400,000 pesos.

Increments are applied to these settings.

“We have met the proposed goal of reaching 4 million households benefiting from Solidarity Income, and we continue to strengthen the program to accompany households in vulnerable situations that today need the support of the national government. More than 1.6 billion pesos have been made available for these payments for cycles 28 and 29″, said Pierre García, director of the Department of Social Prosperity.

(This would be the Solidarity Income in the government of Gustavo Petro).

However, as stated by the entity itself, the resources would be running out, a situation that was already shared with the new government’s joint team that will decide the future of this program.

This benefit was created with the Social Investment Law to mitigate the effects of the pandemic on the most vulnerable families.
