A clinic specializing in cosmetic surgery located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo was raided today as part of an investigation for negligent injuries, after two patients operated on in that health center became unbalanced and were transferred to the Fernández Hospital where they received care, one of which he is in intensive care with life risk, judicial sources reported.
This is the Matienzo Clinic, where personnel from the Crimes Against Health and Personal Safety Division of the Police of the city of Buenos Aires and the Judicial Investigation Corps (CIJ) of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of CABA carried out a raid on Thursday.
The procedure was ordered by the prosecutor Matías De Sanctis, head of the Criminal, Misdemeanor and Misdemeanor Prosecutor’s Office (PCyF) 7, as part of an investigation initiated after the complaint by the Head of the Emergency Department of the Fernández Hospital after the hospitalization of two women who arrived decompensated after a surgical intervention in the private health center located in Matienzo 2600.
One of the patients, aged 25, “entered the Fernández Hospital ward with multiple organ failure after an operation of breast implants in the aforementioned aesthetic center, and had to be transferred to intensive care with risk of life”, specified a statement from the MPF.
Meanwhile, the other patient is a 44-year-old woman who suffered a hemodynamic decompensation after performing a liposuction in the same clinic.
Before the complaint, De Sanctis labeled the case as “faulty injuries” and requested the search that was authorized by the Court.
Consequently, within the framework of the operation, the corresponding minutes were drawn up and medical histories, surgery books, medical files, entry and exit records of employees and doctors corresponding to May were seized, and 10 bags of medicines were seized.
