Yesterday afternoon, the Government published the decree that modifies the structure of the federal government, creating new secretariats. This announcement occurs thanks to the reform of the Organic Law of Public Administration, which was approved this week by Congress.
With the ordinance, issued in an evening edition of the Official Gazette of the Federationthe Secretariats for Women and Sciences, Humanities, Technology and Innovation are created, as well as the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency.
The Public Service Secretariat also changes its name, to now be defined as the Anti-Corruption and Good Government Secretariat. It is defined that it is the power of this dependency exercise the powers that correspond to it in matters of transparency, access to public information and protection of personal data, in accordance with the applicable legal provisions
among others.
At the same time, new powers are assigned to the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), such as coordination with state agencies and carry out actions to request, have access, receive and exchange information that may reveal or clarify facts, provide indications and evidence during investigations, by the institutions and authorities that have it.
