The deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Jesús Suárez Chourio reported from the Casa Amarilla, headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, that he will present a report to the Directive of the Legislative Power to propose the creation of the Venezuela-Namibia Parliamentary Friendship Group, reported the channel of the State on its web portal.
The information was released by Suárez Chourio, who held a meeting with the Namibian delegation visiting Venezuela, headed by the deputy prime minister and head of that country’s International Relations and Cooperation portfolio, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
On behalf of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, the Vice Minister for Africa, Yuri Pimentel, participated in the meeting, who accompanied Netumbo and the deputies that make up the Group, chaired by Jesús Suárez Chourio, reports the MPPRE on its website.
During this meeting, the also president of the Permanent Commission of Security and Defense of the National Assembly recalled that “we are the same dignified peoples who fight for their dignity, their sovereignty, for their love for the people and reject the capitalist interference imposed by the United States to Venezuela”.
Referring to the Venezuela-Africa Parliamentary Friendship Group, Suárez Chourio stressed that the objective of “our revolutionary Parliament, of the people and for the people, is to unite with all the countries of the world, within the framework of respect.”
The Vice Prime Minister of the African country arrived in Venezuela on Sunday to strengthen the ties of brotherhood and cooperation between both peoples, for which she has held a series of meetings with high-level authorities of the Venezuelan Executive, in compliance with a productive bilateral work agenda .
Venezuela has established diplomatic relations with the 55 countries of the African continent, in correspondence with the South-South Cooperation promoted by Commander Hugo Chávez and strengthened by President Maduro.
Venezuela and Namibia established diplomatic relations on May 22, 1990. Since then, they have signed 11 cooperation mechanisms that cover the areas of energy, mining, science and culture.
