This Tuesday, May 31, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, headed by the general secretary in charge of the Minsa Alessandro Ganci and the national director of Pharmacy and Drugs Elvia Lau with the representatives of the Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies (Fedefarma), to know the results of the various working groups, which are working on proposals for a new Medicines Law.
Ganci said that the Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies is collaborating with the Bicentennial Pact, as well as the different actors of civil society in the need to present a single document on the new Medicines Law.
He informed that a previous meeting will be held with all the sectors involved, in order to present a consensual preliminary draft law that has the approval of civil society before the Health Commission of the National Assembly.
For her part, the national director of Pharmacy and Drugs, Elvia Lau, stated that there is a consensus that it is necessary to present a single law for the purchase of medicines, since medicines are an essential good and that they have to be treated as such.
Lau indicated that there are currently several working groups on the subject of medicines, such as: the Technical Commission on Medicines chaired by the Vice President of the Republic, the Pharmaceutical Hub Commission chaired by the Foreign Ministry, the High Level Commission, the of National Agreement and the Bicentennial Pact.
