They propose the creation of a Law for the use of the map of Venezuela

The president of the Special Commission for the Defense of the Guayana Esequiba Territory and the Territorial Sovereignty of the National Assembly, deputy Hermann Escarrá, proposes a Law for the use of the map of Venezuela, where the incorporation of the Esequibo is established.

This was expressed during the Al Aire program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, where he pointed out that a warrant is not enough.

“In the National Assembly we presented an agreement that is actually an exhortation, approved unanimously, but that did not have a great effect, I think we have to go to sanction. Just as a Law was made for the use of the Image of Father Liberator Simón Bolívar, we must make a Law in relation to the Essequibo, but with coercion”.

He explained that the defense of the Essequibo territory in Venezuela seeks direct dialogue, as established by the Geneva Agreement, “Guyana has done the opposite,” said deputy Escarrá.

For the parliamentarian, the Venezuelan response must be based on the position of the country in cultural and economic matters.

The parliamentarian expressed: “We can give the legal debate in the International Court of Justice, Security Council, we can give it in plenary session of the United Nations, but the positioning of Venezuela in the educational, cultural, investments, in the identity card is essential. , in addition to the evaluation of resources”.

He also pointed out: “How are Exxon Mobil, Chevron, the others, going to have legal security, if it is a claim territory, where they are extracting minerals that are from Venezuela.

He pointed out that in the case of the Essequibo, it is the most important issue of our foreign policy, because in more than 160 thousand square kilometers, there are many minerals, and Guyana is giving concessions, contrary to what is established in the Geneva Agreement.
