The most important step that mypes (micro and small companies) must face for this year is to achieve their complete reactivation, says Ana María Choquehuanca, president of the Asociación Pyme Perú.
“All of this must go hand in hand with a financing plan for those who really need it. This requires transparency and effective decentralization. We cannot speak of reactivation if there is no real participation of the companies ”, he pointed out.
Choquehuanca says that three lines of immediate effect have been identified to be implemented: allocate 40% of public purchases to acquire quality goods and services, repower executing nuclei of the Purchasing to MYPErú initiative and promote the participation of the mypes within the framework of the government-to-government agreement between Peru and the United Kingdom.

For her part, Katy Noriega, associate of Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría, affirmed that the special system that pushes the country’s economy towards the path of formalization must be strengthened. “This would be achieved by finding incentives for the registration and formalization of these companies and that those within this sector recognize that hiring workers under the special regime generates an advantage or a lower cost,” he said.
One of the most important challenges in the sector is to combat informality; For this reason, from the SME Association they request a reform of the special regimes for the mypes, in order to generate real incentives that allow them to migrate towards formalization.
Noriega stressed that one of the aspects that determines leaving the formal sector is the excessively complex regulatory and tax framework that does not tend to distinguish between companies due to their size.
He pointed out that one of the Government’s objectives to attract the mypes to formality is intelligent labor control.
