The central strategy of the animal defender candidate is the creation of a Anti-Gunpowder Squad which would be made up of a multidisciplinary team, including members of the Police, the Army, the Ministry of the Environment and government authorities. This elite body would be in charge of prevention, response and immediate attention to cases reported by citizens, ensuring rapid intervention in situations that put life and collective well-being at risk. This structure seeks to move from reactive sanctions to active and coordinated prevention.
In addition to the action in the field, the candidate Ana Ligia Mora announced that she will file a bill in the Congress of the Republic to strengthen current legislation. The project will seek criminalize the misuse of gunpowderelevating these behaviors to a criminal category to establish stricter controls that close the doors to this dangerous practice and protect the life, safety and well-being of all citizens and animals.
