Through Bill No. 8903/2024-PE, the Executive has proposed the increase, starting in November, of the Higher Monthly Comprehensive Remuneration (RIMS) of 14,841 higher education teachers within the framework of Law No. 30512.

The standard raises Increase the monthly weekly hourly value of the RIMS by S/15, which will increase from S/69.37 to S/84.37. With this measure, Higher technological education teachers will have increases between S/400 and S/1040 according to their categoryand their remuneration would fluctuate between S/3174 (category 1) and S/8254 (category 5).
In the case of higher education teachers, in addition to the increase in the hourly rate, their remuneration will be leveled at 160% of the RIMS, in accordance with current regulations, with which they will receive increases between S/1,514 and S/2,624, which will set the remuneration for appointed and contracted teachers at S/5,399.
With this measure, the remuneration of higher education pedagogical teachers will increase by 39% (appointed) and 95% (hired).
The Minister of Education, Morga Quero, reported that the project also includes teachers from the higher education institutes of the Ministry of Education, from the training and tourism centers of the Ministry of Education, from the higher schools of artistic training, from the National University of Music, from the Diego Quispe Tito National University of Art of Cusco and from the Daniel Alomía Robles National University.
He said that the implementation of the increase will require a budget of 28 million soles for 2024 and 168.4 million soles for 2025.
