The Sectorial Vice President for Citizen Security and Peace, A/J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, presented before deputies of the National Assembly (AN)a proposal to amend articles of the Criminal Records Registry Law.
Also the owner of Ministry of People’s Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP)he expressed it during a meeting held with the representatives of the Permanent Commission of Internal Policy of the National Parliament, as published on his social networks.

On June 2, the AN approved, in first discussion and by a qualified majority, the draft “Criminal Records and Records Law”, which is now in popular consultation.
Said bill is based on Article 28 of the Bolivarian Constitution of Venezuela, which expresses a relationship with Habeas Data, and seeks to renew the norm that is more than 40 years old and, due to the time that has elapsed, has become obsolete.
The senior official assured that updating the Criminal Records Registry will enhance the necessary, truthful and timely information for the proper functioning of the country’s Justice System.
