The four main consulting firms communication and public relations of Peru (Apoyo Comunicación, Burson, LLYC and Métrica), announced the creation of the Peruvian Association of Communication Consultants (Apeccom), an initiative that originated some time ago when they coincided in several activities and union participations.
The first board of directors is made up of: Pablo Cateriano, president; Adriana Pedraza, vice president; Daniel Titinger, secretary and Gabriel Ortiz de Zevallos, treasurer. Upon assuming their positions, they highlighted that this is a first and necessary step to strengthen their activity in the face of public opinion and make a contribution to society.
Under the concept that communication inspires and has the ability to transform social and commercial relationships, Apeccom’s mission is to promote it in the corporate world with the highest standards of ethics and professional excellence.
Apeccom believes that a solid industry generates confidence, attracts new talent and permanently contributes to the country’s growth. For this reason, several objectives have been set: to strengthen the sector through respect, honesty, dialogue, education and equity, as well as to stimulate the professionalization of Public Relations; disseminate its activities in different instances of society, which includes public and private organizations, and contribute to the improvement of legislation that guarantees transparency in corporate communication.
Among the founding principles, transparency stands out as a great value to be shown by all the people, companies and institutions to which the consulting firms provide their services. Other fundamental pillars are moral and academic training, research and truthfulness, which translate into the confirmation of facts before they are communicated.
The association will carry out, among its first actions, an approach to other unions and the academy; as well as a comprehensive positioning strategy with various activities and events to disseminate its principles and purpose.
Apeccom believes that, as members, consulting firms will be able to offer their stakeholders and society better and more valuable results. That is the spirit that animates her.
