This Tuesday, within the framework of Colombia Wind Power, the Vice Minister of Energy, Belizza Ruiz, presented what will be the government’s methodology to unlock both generation and transmission projects who have not been able to complete their social licensing procedures.

According to what was presented by Ruiz, there will be six projects in which this work will begin: Colectora, Windpeshi, Alpha and Beta, Camelias, Acacias 2. This work will begin with a series of visits that the Ministry has already scheduled.
These works will include conversations with the communities as well as with the companies, so that they advance their environmental licensing processes.
“We are going to develop workshops with ANLA and the companies on the way in which these processes should be carried out. It is the way we can use to streamline processes”, the vice minister stated during her presentation.
In this regard, Fredy Zuleta, Transmission Manager of Grupo Energía Bogota, stated that this work will be very important, given that the communities companies are demanding some responsibilities that belong to the government, but that by their absence, they relapse.

He also said that alternatives should be found to benefit communities, without their demands being disproportionate and “vetoing” the project. “You have to differentiate between prior consultation and the ability to veto,” he said.
