Various benches of Congress presented a motion of censure against the president of Congress, Lady Camones (Alliance for Progress), after the recent leak of audios of dialogues between her and the leader of the Alliance for Progress (APP), César Acuña.
In the document, the parliamentarians argue that they seek the censorship of Camones Soriano due to the audios broadcast by Epicentro TV, where César Acuña, candidate for regional governor of La Libertad by APP, is heard asking Lady Camones and other members of the caucus that the approval of the creation of the Alto Trujillo district be speeded up.

“Lady Camones maintains a direct and personal conversation with Mr. César Acuña Peralta, president of the Alianza para el Progreso Party and current candidate for the Regional Government of La Libertad, where he expressly explains the work he performs in this Power of State, undressing the strategy that they had been maintaining to favor Mr. César Acuña Peralta regarding a bill on the districtization of Alto Trujillo”, they point out.
Likewise, the legislators assure that, compared to what was heard in the material, the head of Parliament would have committed the crimes of usurpation of functions, illegal sponsorship and influence peddling.
“In her capacity as president of the Board of Directors, she is the one that leads the development of the agenda of the plenary sessions and decides which bills will be debated and approved, all in accordance with the content of the broadcast audios where the orders and demands of a person outside the Legislative”, reads the motion of censure.
The document is signed by legislators from the caucuses of Peru Libre, Peru Democrático, Cambio Democrático and Perú Bicentenario. They also carry parliamentary signatures from other groups such as Darwin Espinoza (Popular Action) and Óscar Zea (Podemos Perú).
