When the Chamber of Deputies prepares to define “more rigorous and demanding measures with the attendance” of legislators from all parties at plenary sessions and in committees, yesterday the Budget Commission that validated the opinion in favor of a general extortion law was attended by only one of its 58 members, Reginaldo Sandoval Flores (PT).
And since the president of the commission, Merilyn Gómez Pozos (Morena), was at home, the session of only 18 minutes was led by the technical secretary Irma Virginia Minero Ramos. She and the PT deputy were the only ones in the Protocol Room, the largest in the San Lázaro campus.
If on Monday, when that same commission voted on the opinion of the initiatives of a new General Water Law and reforms to the National Water Law, the former soccer player Cuauhtémoc Blanco (Morena) connected only to take roll call while playing paddle tennis in the Desierto de los Leones, yesterday 44 connected remotely; That is, 13 did not join the session at all.
On Monday there were two present: Antares Vázquez (Morena) and Sandoval Flores himself.
Yesterday at noon, the coordinator of Morena, Ricardo Monreal Ávila, acknowledged that the problem of non-attendance or recreational activities is one of all the groups and “we are going to resolve it fundamentally. We are going to propose reviewing the agenda for the scheduled events; to be very careful not to distract the sessions and concentrate on the issues.”
He also considered it “not fortunate” that the deputies are distracted by activities that are not their responsibility, such as Tuesday’s dance with the Sonora Santanera, staged by members of that bench, who left the session, and the case of Cuauhtémoc Blanco.
At the group’s weekly conference, deputy Maribel Solache opened up and exclaimed: “I was the one with the bailongo! I talked everyone out of it.
