During this afternoon, an earthquake of medium intensity was perceived in the north of Chile, specifically in the regions of Arica and Parinacota; Tarapaca; Antofagasta; and Atacama.
The National Emergency Office (Onemi) with information collected from the National Seismological Center, reported that the telluric movement was 6.8 on the Richter scale and was located 70 km east of Socaire.
