This Tuesday, a commemorative act was held in relation to the 21st anniversary of the coup d’état of April 11, 2002, as well as a Ecumenical Mass of Prayer in honor of those who fell on the 11th, 12th and 13th of that month, in Caracas.
In this activity, the vice president of mobilization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nahum Fernández, was present, who was there to remember after 21 years: “In 21 years we have worked so that what happened that April 11, where fascism, with its murderous face, took to the streets of Caracas and assumed a coup d’état head-on,” he said.
“It is necessary that we convene in this place every April 11, at the Monument to the Fallen of Puente Llaguno, to remember those who lost their lives, for some subjects who went mad because of power and did not measure the consequences and said : We are going to put an end to that Chavista people,” he stressed.
For her part, the deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Iris Varela, highlighted that “21 years ago in this space, a coup d’état was carried out, which had been brewing in advance, directed by the United States, and that to consummate those blows, he gets his local lackeys, who sell the Homeland and give up the lives of their brothers.
“They were accumulating forces and developed a document to which I had access, along with Luis Tascón, with whom I toured the country showing the document to the people. This said the 20 steps of the perfect coup. They had the script to overthrow the government, led by Hugo Chávez, who said that they had to join forces with the businessmen, the Adeco unions and the Episcopal Conference”, he maintained.
In turn, he recalled that “21 years ago, they made a pact to hand over Venezuela, signed by the Confederation of Venezuelan Workers (CTV), Fedecámaras and the Episcopal Conference.”
