The Undersecretary of Diversity of Neuquén together with the civil organizations Table for Equality Neuquén and Trans and Non-Binary Men of Neuquén and Río Negro inaugurated a mural with the face of Tehuel de la Torre asking for his appearance alive, within the framework of the World Day to Combat Discrimination by Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity.
“With this action we seek to keep active the request for the appearance alive of Tehuel de la Torre, a 21-year-old trans man from Buenos Aires who attended a job interview on March 11, 2021 and his whereabouts are still unknown,” explained Benjamín Génova, a reference of Trans and Non-Binary Men from Neuquén and Río Negro.
While, the referent of Trans Masculinities of the Table for Equality of Neuquén, Fran Sfeirstated that “just like his family, we are still looking for our partner and We insist on the implementation of access to formal employment for trans people so that no other person in Argentina is disappeared for the same reason.”.
The mural with the face of Tehuel and the legend “Trans lives matter”, inaugurated in the west of the city of Neuquén, was made by the muralists of the Pin Club group with the support of the Cultural Center Casa de las Leyes de the Legislature of Neuquén.
The event was attended by the national deputy Tanya Bertoldi; the president of the Deliberative Council of the city of Neuquén, Claudia Argumero; the Undersecretary of Diversity of the province, Adrián Urrutia; and the Undersecretary of Human Rights, Diversity and Cultural Pluralism of the Municipality of Neuquén, Fabio Bringas.
