The second district court in matters of commercial bankruptcy ordered the dispersion of 607 million 666 thousand 393 pesos to more than 4 thousand 100 unionized workers of Interjet, who have been on strike for almost four years.

Section 15 of the Confederation of Mexican Workers reported the above and indicated that Judge Ruth Huerta García instructed that, within a period of 10 business days, the bankruptcy trustee Alfonso Ascencio Triujeque remit the aforementioned amount to the Federal Board of Arbitration Conciliation so that it defines the mechanism on how payment will be made to each worker.

The preparations, he explained, involve everything from changing the deposit ticket sent by the trustee, to determining whether the money will be delivered to each worker by check, for example, and the delivery logistics, such as the dates on which each worker will be summoned. worker to collect what corresponds to him.

The union stressed that, independently of the previous amount, it was decided to reserve 224 million 241 thousand 592 pesos for the eventual payment of up to 1,701 workers – mostly trusted ones – not recognized by the sentence of recognition, graduation and priority of credits.

Sources close to the case indicated that the resources are those that were recovered from the embargoes carried out by section 15 of the CTM on the accounts of the airline Interjet in different banking institutions and that, at the time, the Trustee did not want to transfer to the Federal Board.

Last March this newspaper reported that the striking workers demanded that the JFCA comply with the award issued in their favor, in order to begin the dispersion of around 850 million pesos.

The ruling implies debts for social and economic benefits, such as social security, Infonavit, Fonacot and transportation, among others, in addition to the salaries lost since the red-and-black flags were placed on January 8, 2021.

The union representation of the workers pointed out that although this resolution of the court It’s a great advancethis does not imply the termination of either the strike or the legal processes underway.
