Indecopi reported that the company SC Johnson and Son del Peru S.A. communicated about the call for review and the beginning of the voluntary withdrawal of the Raid Electric Liquid Repellent product, model SKU 317632, for presenting risks to the safety of consumers.
The aforementioned product is made up of a portable equipment that plugs into the electrical current that is configured to be used with a 110-volt current, when the current in Peru is 220 volts, which could cause the product to overheat and its cover of plastic to melt, exposing an open electrical circuit that would pose a risk of electric shock if the consumer came into contact with it.
Also, plugging the product into 220 volts could generate excessive heat and may create conditions where the fluid refill can catch fire, particularly if used near flammable materials.
