They order the arrest of a man and a woman for mistreatment of a minor in Chiriquí

The Specialized Section for Family and Minors of the Chiriquí Regional Prosecutor’s Office achieved a guarantee control hearing that ordered the provisional detention of a man and a woman, charged with the crimes of Child Abuse and Deprivation of Liberty, to the detriment of a child under twelve years of age.

Prosecutor Carlos Alvarado supported elements of conviction that were collected and that prove the alleged criminal conduct and the alleged relationship with those indicated, which allowed, due to the nature of the act and the risk for the victim, to legalize the apprehension, formulate the charge and that the provisional detention of both father and stepmother of the victim was decreed.

The facts of this criminal case occur in the district of David, between the months of March to April of this year when both allegedly stated that they kept the minor deprived of her liberty in the house where they all resided for more than five days; In addition, they caused him physical and emotional damage.
