After a group of people, who were leaking liquor, disturbed public order and attacked units of the National Police, in the Cholodromo sector in Boquete, Chiriquí province, the mayor of this district, Joswar Alvarado, issued a Mayoral Decree to order the temporary closure of the centers for the sale of alcoholic beverages in this place.
In the Alvarado Decree, it was indicated that by official letter No. 010-2023 SEB-ZPCH, of January 22, 2023, the national police informed them of the events that occurred during the early morning of January 22, 2023, and specified that a group without saying a word, they began to throw stones, glass bottles and all kinds of objects against the police units.
After this fact, three policemen were injured three, one at the level of the right eyebrow, another in the right leg and the third in the right ankle, being sent to receive medical attention. Two of them were disabled with 15 and 30 days due to the seriousness of their injuries.
Slvarado stated that this is the third time that this type of situation has occurred in the cholodromo, which is why he made the decision with a view to guaranteeing public order, safeguarding the integrity and security of nationals, foreigners and the national police.
Specifically, the temporary closure of the bars and canteens located in the cholodromo was ordered and the closure of the street that leads to this sector is ordered. To achieve this, security tapes and/or partitions will be placed to warn passers-by and vehicles of the situation. of danger and prohibition that was decreed on this route.
Anyone who fails to comply with these provisions will be penalized with a fine of B/. 500 to B/.10,000.00 balboas and the total closure and cancellation of the notice of commercial operation.
With the Alcladicio Decree, the Justices of the Peace of the District of Boquete, the Night Judge, the Compliance Judge and the National Police are empowered to do what is stipulated in it.
