The mayor of Achocalla, Manuel Condori Quispe, will have to spend three months in prison for the Bajo Llojeta case. The decision was issued this afternoon by the 13th anti-corruption court of La Paz. Meanwhile, the other mayor accused of this same case, Iván Arias, described this Thursday that he suffers from a clinical condition that requires constant observation.
The prosecutor’s commission managed to demonstrate that there is breach of duties, in the case of Condori Quispe, for having authorized an earth movement that led to a dungeon, which caused the death of a five-year-old girl and the flooding of at least 40 houses.
The precautionary hearing was to take place on Wednesday; However, she was declared in the middle room, because Manuel Condori did not have a defense lawyer. The hearing was set up this Thursday afternoon and, after resolving two incidents presented by his defense, the hearing continued for at least six hours.
For his part, the mayor of La Paz, through his radio program made known the ailments he suffers from and that prevent him from carrying out his work appropriately. Arias fainted Tuesday night, hours before giving her statement to prosecutors.
“The doctor told me that my heart is bigbut not in a good way. “I need treatment, because this is serious,” said the mayor of La Paz and related that the day he went to the prosecutor’s office to testify, a doctor from the Forensic Research Institute (IDIF) came and the technicians took samples for the laboratory.
