The General Inspectorate of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) opened an investigation into the major of that component, Diego Armando Perche Párraga, according to file GNB-CG-IG-SI:011-23.
The investigation was opened as a result of an alleged leaked conversation between Perche Párraga and the agricultural producer César Augusto Camacaro Hoyos. The document that initiates the disciplinary procedure presents the GNB major as “one of the pieces that collaborated for an alleged extortion.”
Major Perche Párraga was part of a commission investigating Camacaro Hoyos for alleged money laundering. And it is within the framework of this investigation that the alleged extortion against Camacaro Hoyos takes place, according to the audio collected by the National Anti-drug Command, as the document states.
Perche served as commander of the Regional Anti-drug Intelligence Unit No. 12 (Lara) and head of the Rural Commando Detachment 13-2 of the GNB. The investigation seeks to determine if the behavior of Major Perche is subsumed in the Military Disciplinary Law “when it is verified that he violated the provisions, by offending morality.”
