Some 95 marijuana packages were seized by agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), Customs Inspectors and members of the Public Ministry, during a joint inspection work, carried out in the port of Haina Oriental, Santo Domingo Oeste municipality.
Within the framework of the reinforcement of the interdiction operations, the operational equipment, developed verification tasks in several containers that reached the terminal from New York, United States, when a canine unit warned of foreign substances inside a box of a box cardboard.
Subsequently, 95 vegetable packages were opened inside, packed in plastic covers and wrapped in medium -useful clothing.
The Public Prosecutor and the DNCD deepen the investigations in relation to the case, while persecuting two men linked to the frustrated shipment of the drug.
“According to the manifesto, the box with the substance camouflaged in clothing, would have been sent by a man domiciled in an Apartamentos del Bronx building.”
The authorities, as part of the new strategies, have continued to expand interdiction operations against drug trafficking and other crimes, in airports, ports, borders and other parts of the country.
