A police official was murdered in the La Bombilla neighborhood, Petare, Sucre municipality (Miranda), according to versions obtained from security agencies.
The murdered man is identified as Dionys Alexander Batista, with the hierarchy of chief officer assigned to Region 7 of the Miranda Police.
The events occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the officer was on his way to his residence. At the height of the second plan of La Bombilla, Dionys was approached by three subjects, one of whom fired multiple shots at him until he was badly injured.
The criminals stripped the policeman of his regulation weapon and fled towards the Callejón Oriente.
A sister-in-law of Dionys heard the shots, went out into the street and saw him lying on the ground. With the help of other people they were able to transfer him to the Domingo Luciani hospital located in El Llanito.
In that health center they admitted him to the operating room to undergo an operation but he died in the middle of the operation.
The Public Ministry opened an investigation.
