A 61-year-old man was the victim of a murder in the Buceo neighborhood after about four criminals beat him and shot him.
According to the Ministry of the Interior, around 8:15 a.m. the 9-1-1 Emergency Service received an alert for a robbery in Buceo. The person who alerted the authorities indicated that they had just been robbed and that another man who was with him was injured.
The agents moved to Rivera Avenue between José Gestal and Bulevar Batlle y Ordoñez, to a housing complex located there. Once at the site they met the person he called, who told his version of events.
According to the complainant, he and the victim arrived in Montevideo from Maldonado to buy an engine. At a certain moment they were inside a parked car and, when they got out of it, criminals approached them. In total there were four or five assailants, who beat him and the other person.
One of the antisocials pulled out a gun and stole 10,000 pesos from him. When the criminals fled the area, one of them shot the victim several times, who would eventually die.
Mobile is not entirely clear
At this time, the Investigations personnel of the Operational Zone II of the Montevideo Police Headquarters investigate the case as a robbery. However, it is not ruled out that it could be a drug-related case.
In accordance with Underlined, a neighbor of the complex saw that, a few meters from where the incident occurred, there was a bag. After reviewing the content inside the package, marijuana was found. However, the witness could not specify who the drug found belonged to.
