A man identified as Maykel Gonzalez Torres29 years old, a Nicaraguan national, was found inside a vehicle, shot in the head, wrapped in sheets, black plastic and tied with a cable.
The incident occurred on Friday, July 14, in the Diques de Guadalupe sector, Cartago, Costa Rica, as reported by the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ).

The institution explained that the situation was learned when officials of the Public Force were conducting patrols and upon finding a van-type vehicle, they ordered the driver to stop, however “he did not comply with the instruction and accelerated, fleeing the place.”
“This action started a chase, in which the van driver entered a narrow gravel street, and then stopped and ran with other subjects towards a charral to mislead the troops, who could not reach them due to the darkness. and the top of the grass,” reported Diario Extra.
After leaving the vehicle abandoned, the police officers proceeded to search it, finding the lifeless body of the Nicaraguan “for which they notified the judicial authorities,” the OIJ detailed. González Torres’ body was transferred to the morgue for forensic analysis.

For its part, Diario Extra stated that, according to its sources, the victim “allegedly had problems with members of a criminal gang who sentenced him to death, for which reason, fearing for his life, he made the decision to return to Nicaragua and apparently He returned to Costa Rica a few days, so it is not ruled out that the motive is a settling of scores.
So far, the authorities have not found the whereabouts of the suspects. Neighbors in the area have stated that these criminal actions are “something of every day.”
