They murder a merchant in Santander for not paying an extortion

Dismayed are the inhabitants of the municipality of Puerto Wilches in Santander, because a man identified as Álvaro Cortés Suárez, 52, a trader in the area, was shot four times by a man who identified himself as a member of the Gaitanista Self-Defense Forces of Colombia or Clan del Golfo.

According to information from the victim’s next of kin, on several occasions the merchant received calls as a result of extortion and this would be the main cause of the citizen’s homicide in Puerto Wilches.

For his part, Colonel Luis Cubillos, commander of the Magdalena Medio Police, pointed out that “this event occurred around 11:30 pm on Friday, in the urban area of ​​the municipality of Puerto Wilches, exactly in the San Rafael neighborhood, found a person conversing inside an establishment open to the public in the canaveral sector, a subject enters Apparently this person makes some request to the victim, he responds, a fight is generated and then the murderer shoots against this person.

The officer added, “immediately the victim is transferred to a care center in Bucaramanga but unfortunately due to the seriousness of his injuries he dies, That is why we are reviewing the hypotheses of the case, when it appeared previously they had been making some request with extortion intent to the merchant, but that is a matter of investigation for the authorities, to relate that our Judicial Police carried out the verification activities at the scene and there are some people identified”.
