The focus of the forest fire that had been activated on Monday in the San Juan town of Valle Perfil was extinguished, reported the National Fire Management Service (SNMF), under the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.
According to the agency’s daily report, at this time no active focus is registered in the country.
Meanwhile, the Environment portfolio recalled that 95% of forest fires are caused by human intervention, and among the first causes is the use of fire for the preparation of grazing areas.
Other factors that prevail are the abandonment of land, campfires and poorly extinguished cigarette butts, the agency specified.
Climatic factors, such as lack of rainfall, high temperatures, low percentage of humidity, constant frost and strong winds, affect the spread of fire, it was noted.
