They make a collection to repatriate a Nicaraguan who died in Spain

The 24-year-old Kivian Ruíz died in Bilbao, Spain, on May 8 under unknown circumstances. The police authorities of the Iberian country are carrying out the respective investigations of the case, a relative of the victim confirmed to Article 66.

Ruíz’s body was found early Sunday morning, May 8, under the Euskalduna Palace bridge, in La Ría Bilbao, in the Basque Country. According to local media, a person alerted the authorities that a man was asking for help in the river and when they arrived at the scene the young man’s body was without vital signs.

Kivian Ruíz is originally from the department of Estelí, he leaves two minors in orphanage. The young man arrived in Spain 11 months ago in search of improving living conditions for his family that he had left behind in Nicaragua and who are now suffering from the loss of his loved one.

The forensic authorities have not yet determined the causes of the Nicaraguan’s death because they continue to work on the autopsy. Likewise, the progress of the investigation has not been revealed to the family of the deceased. Nicaraguan media indicate that the victim worked as a mechanic in the Central American country; he also worked in a tobacco company.

Urania Méndez, the victim’s cousin, told local media in Estelí that the young man worked in a fruit shop in Bilbao. On the day of the event, he worked all day and around nine at night he left the place where he lived in the European country.

Ruíz’s relatives have started a collection to repatriate his body to his native Estelí and give him a Christian burial. They still do not know the amount of the repatriation and have arranged two contact telephone numbers for any collaboration: +34 632 84 55 86 (Spain) and +505 86373404 (Nicaragua). They also enabled the bank account 10021210140888 in Banpro, in the name of Marveli Canales Ruíz for donations.
