Since 2018, the Arcoiris’s mother made five complaints of sexual abuse. The girl reported, on more than one occasion, before different people and professionals involved, being sexually assaulted by her paternal grandfather.
In dialogue with Télam, Delfina’s lawyer, Aldana Ross stressed that: “Today we are demanding with this action that the criminalization of Delfina Zárranz, Arcoiris’s mother, be ended by the Judiciary of La Rioja.”
“There is a persistent denial from the Judiciary regarding the different requests we have made so that Delfina’s investigative statement is made virtually next Tuesday, because both she and her daughter are sheltered in the City of Buenos Aires. “The seriousness of all this is that the Superior Court of Justice of La Rioja continues without resolving the cases of sexual abuse of the girl,” added Ross.
For their part, the lawyers handling the case in La Rioja, Ivana Cattaneo and Élida Barrera, confirmed to Télam that as a result of a precautionary measure filed last June by them and the girl’s grandmother, in which they presented extensive documentation and videos about “the serious situation that both were suffering”, this week the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) requested information from the Argentine State on the situation of Arcoiris and her mother.
“The Argentine State has 10 days to respond to the request.
