The health portfolio explained that the cooperation includes 2,048 computers with their respective UPS, 317 ticket printers with supplies to be allocated to the pharmacy area for the issuance of electronic prescriptions, 442 televisions and mini PCs for patient callers in waiting rooms, 74 servers for the implementation of the HIS system and 145 edge teams to guarantee the connectivity of the establishments.
In this context, the Ministry of Health has been promoting a computer tool that standardizes the flow of care, decreases waiting time and facilitates rapid access to the patient’s complete medical history, for which Taiwan’s support was requested, initiating to the development of the HIS, a system designed to optimize hospital management at all levels of care.
The Minister of Health, Julio Borba thanked Taiwan, on behalf of his representative, for the constant support to our country and for making this project reach the majority of establishments. “The savings you are having in time, especially the patient and other logistical aspects, is too important, and we will continue to see many other results,” he remarked.

The Ambassador of Taiwan, HE José Chih-Cheng Han, mentioned about the growth of the project, whose success has already been implemented in other countries. “For us, this is an emblematic project, which was not just a delivery, but was developed jointly so that it is adapted to the country’s geographical conditions. Also, I am very pleased to announce that the HIS system started with Paraguay has been implemented in other countries as one of the great advances in medicine”, he emphasized.
