On October 17, Colonel PNP Harvey Colchado was intimidated by the delivery of three bullet casings and threatening messages that they left in their home, located in the district of Los Olivos. Security cameras captured the moment a hooded individual approached his home around 8:00 p.m.
According to images and videos that La República was able to access, this person approached Colchado’s garage wearing a hood, left these things and after that, left the place in a very calm manner. The former head of the High Complexity Division of the PNP reported this fact to the district Depincri. He was wearing a blue t-shirt, black pants and black sneakers.
“Entering through the garage, through the wooden doorfound a small yellow manila envelope that was stapled on one of its sides, the same one that he took, entering his home and upon opening it, he found inside three (03) firearm cartridges and a small bond blade, the same which has the message written on a computer in red letters: “Damn ep*** son, you are going to see the blood of your loved ones, it takes time but you don’t forget,” the police report reads.
Miguel Pérez Arroyo, Harvey Colchado’s lawyer, also confirmed to the newspaper this fact that occurred a few months ago. It is not the first time that the colonel has received this type of intimidation.
Harvey Colchado’s lawyer denounces death threats against PNP colonel: “He has distanced himself from his family”
Harvey Colchado’s lawyer, Miguel Pérez Arroyo, He told La República in June that he revealed that, due to threats received, Colchado had been forced to distance himself from his family for safety reasons.
“For months, for personal reasons and for security reasons, he has had a separate home and is separated from his family ties. He has death threats everywhere,” Pérez said. However, he assured that Colchado has theabilityto face this type of situation: “Any person could be affected by this type of attack and they are more unpleasant when they are carried out in the line of duty. But I believe that the colonel is absolutely prepared to endure this and more,” he said.
Miguel Pérez addressed the alleged persecution he faces from the political class, which, according to him, is under pressure due to the investigations carried out by Diviac in recent months. Furthermore, he emphasized that the institution does not have any political inclination in its actions.
“The entire political class has been affected by the work of Diviac. Remember all the interventions that have been made to political parties by various prosecutors’ offices, who was commissioned to do the work due to the issue of confidentiality of information and reliability? It was to Diviac,” said Colchado’s lawyer, who asked for greater attention to some type of intervention or disappearance of the institution by the State and which the political class celebrates.
