the overall prize will be $7,000,000, of which the portfolio will contribute $2,500,000 and the Foundation $4,500,000, while seven projects of $1,000,000 each will be financed.
The objectives of the contest It will be to direct research projects towards the specific problems of people diagnosed with ALS; carry out a sociological and environmental investigation, with a multidisciplinary perspective, of patients with this neurodegenerative disease and their families and affective and care environment.
It also aims to provide evidence for the development of legislation and public policy projects on rare diseases; identify obstacles and resources regarding accessibility to disability certification; health care coverage and social protection.
The inscription It will be between August 1 and 10, with a deadline for receiving projects until September 10, the ministry specified.
The topics covered in it will be: family and home; employment situation; health coverage; type of ALS that suffers if it is Bulbar or Spinal and total survey of the disease in the particularity of each patient, total input needs, need for communication support.
