This second tender will be held from February 15 to March 18. The results will be disseminated on March 19 and, as of April 3, the delivery of these inputs will begin.
These are 212 million pieces of medicines, equivalent to 4.2% of the 4.982 million pieces of health supplies originally required by 26 public institutions.
The official justified that these medications were not awarded in the consolidated purchase because “they are very low volume pieces”, less than 3,000 pieces for two years.

The risk of shortage of some inputs is latent. For now, the health authorities trust that there will be no shortage because at the end of 2024 they made a complementary purchase of 244 million medications. Of that figure, 42 million have already been distributed and they hope to advance the delivery for mid -February of another 300 types of supplies, Clark said.
“We have done this validating with the institutions that require earlier than in March, to ensure that we can regularize the supply,” he explained.
Few items awarded
In the first round of the consolidated purchase it was possible to award 73.2% of the total pieces. However, this represented 39% of all medicines offered.
