They kill a Nicaraguan who tried to assault passengers on a bus in Costa Rica

Nicaraguan citizen Avimael Amador Romero, 34, died from bullet wounds on the night of February 6 in Costa Rica when he tried to assault a transport unit that was going from San Isidro de Heredia to the capital San José.

The general director of the Costa Rican Public Force, Daniel Calderón, reported through local media that Amador had a record of robbery and that his residence in Costa Rica had been revoked. In addition, he stated that he was unaware of the reasons why once he was released from prison he was not deported to Nicaragua.

Amador was shot to death at the bus stop as he tried to flee the scene of the crime, according to the account of other bus passengers. The citizen had allegedly gotten on with a weapon to rob the bus.

The Directorate of Migration and Aliens announced that Amador was in the administrative process of beginning the cancellation of his immigration status, which entailed locating him to notify him of that cancellation process, an action that could not be carried out since he was not located by the institution.

The citizen had a long history of stays in jail for crimes against property and illegal possession of weapons. He was released from prison for the last time on November 28, 2017 after discounting a 9-month prison sentence.

In previous cases, their sentences were three, four, and five months for crimes related to aggravated robbery and illegal possession of weapons, according to the director of the Costa Rican Public Force.

According to the data, the Nicaraguan died from a bullet wound received in the chest after exchanging shots with a security guard on a bus, after trying to assault the passengers who were traveling in the transport unit. A 49-year-old woman also lost her life from two gunshot wounds to the neck.
