The burning of grasslands begins to generate large episodes of fires that devour extensive territories. A massive fire broke out Thursday afternoon in San Bernardino.
The fire started on the road that connects Luque with that town, and they estimate that it originated in the burning of grasslands by people who apply the rudimentary method of fire, to prepare fields for new pastures or other agricultural products.
In images captured from the route, it can be seen that the flares are expanding rapidly, fueled by the strong winds that are blowing.
Firefighters from various units of the departments bordering Cordillera began containment tasks, but it becomes difficult, due to the conditions of the land.
Indeed, large strips of buildings are covered with dry vegetation, a consequence of the drought that affects almost the entire country, which makes the fire spread easily.
Firefighters and authorities in charge of addressing the issue of forest fires warn that the current situation in the country, with little rainfall, can determine critical situations for agricultural and livestock producers.
