The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued two yellow alerts this morning for intense winds for the west of the provinces of Salta and Jujuy, and another for rains for a large part of Chubut.
According to the agency’s report, “the area will be affected by winds from the west sector with speeds between 70 and 80 kilometers per hour, and gusts that could exceed 100 km/h.”
The alert is for the area of the Cochinoca, Rinconada, Santa Catalina and Puna de Susques mountain ranges, in Jujuy; and for the Puna zone of Salta de Cachi, La Poma, Los Andes and Molino.
Likewise, the SMN issued another yellow alert for heavy rains that affects a large part of the province of Chubut, in the towns of Gastre, west of Mártires, Telsen, Paso de Indios, plateau of Escalante, Sarmiento and southwest of Florentino Ameghino.
“The area continues to be affected by rains of varying intensity, where accumulated precipitation values between 10 and 15 millimeters are expected in the remainder of the alert period,” the agency said.
In regions far from the coast, and especially in the highest areas, precipitation can occur in the form of rain and snow, according to the SMN.
