They issue a warning of prevention due to waves and winds on the Caribbean slope

The National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) issued this Saturday a prevention notice for significant waves on the Caribbean slope.

The maritime zones that are under notice are:

Western Caribbean: Bocas del Toro, Ngábe Buglé Comarca
(waves between 1.0 and 2.5 meters high).

Central Caribbean: North of Veraguas and Costa Abajo de Colón
(waves between 1.0 and 2.5 meters high).

Costa Arriba of Colón and Guna Yala Region:
(waves between 1.5 meters and 3.0 meters high).

According to the Directorate of Hydrometeorology of the Electricity Transmission Company SA, (ETESA), the intensification of the trade winds from the north over the Caribbean Sea is expected, producing significant waves and an increase in rip currents on the beaches.

SINAPROC warned swimmers and artisanal boats to take precautions in the face of these maritime conditions.
