The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) issued a prevention notice until Wednesday, August 3, due to the increase in waves in the Caribbean from Panama.

According to the Department of Hydrometeorology of Etesa, precautionary conditions are foreseen for bathers and artisanal boats.

This warning notice coincides with the warning of tropical wave #23 over the country.

  • Central Caribbean: Costa Abajo de Colón and north of Veraguas.
  • Western Caribbean: Bocas del Toro and Ngäbe Buglé Comarca.

  • If you live near coastal areas, be aware of waves that can be life-threatening and cause flooding.

Sinaproc urged the population to stay informed through official sources of any event that may be registered and to take preventive measures. For emergencies contact 520-4429.
