The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) issued a prevention notice until Wednesday, August 3, due to the increase in waves in the Caribbean from Panama.

This warning notice coincides with the warning of tropical wave #23 over the country.
Maritime areas under notice:
- Eastern Caribbean: Guna Yala region and Costa Arriba de Colón.
- Central Caribbean: Costa Abajo de Colón and north of Veraguas.
- Western Caribbean: Bocas del Toro and Ngäbe Buglé Comarca.
Sinaproc asks to abide by prevention measures:
- Bathers and captains of light boats must take the usual security measures.
- Avoid carrying out activities in coastal areas.
- If you are going to sail in light craft, make sure you have personal flotation devices and communication radio in good condition.
- If you live near coastal areas, be aware of waves that can be life-threatening and cause flooding.
