The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry, investigate the discovery of a boat of about 28 feet in lengthnear the coast of La Ciénaga beach, province of Barahona.
The authorities, after receiving information about a boat in a suspicious manner, sighted about 30 miles south of the coast of the aforementioned province, immediately proceeded to mobilize to the place, finding the boat without occupants, with two outboard motors and several jugs of fuel.
Then the boat was transferred to the port of Barahona, where in the presence of the titular prosecutor it was inspected more rigorously without finding anything compromising.
The Public Ministry and the DNCD expand the investigations to determine if it was a transshipment of controlled substancesbecause the boat appears without a name or registration.
In this sense, the DNCD and the Navy They carry out search and tracking operations throughout the area to find the occupants of the boat.
