Many social media users expressed their outrage, pointing out that this practice, which is disguised as tradition, is actually a form of animal exploitation and abuse.
“It is a recurring practice”
Platform Alto’s complaint highlights that these types of situations are not isolated cases, but rather a common practice in some areas of the city, which reinforces the need for local authorities to implement stricter measures to protect animals from exploitation.

Through a message on his social networks, Padilla made a call for compassion to the capital’s president. “Mayor @CarlosFGalan, it’s not a desire to fuck; It is a plea for compassion, for mercy. This photo is from today, taken in the center of Bogotá: you can see the fatigue, the discomfort, the exploitation. “Make history!” said the senator, calling for the implementation of more humane options for those responsible for these animals.
In response, Mayor Galán recognized the seriousness of the situation and assured that he would not allow these events to be repeated. “Senator, you are right.
We will take the appropriate corrective measures,” said the mayor, who also highlighted that during 2024 various responsible adoption initiatives were promoted, with 469 pet animals finding a new home thanks to the work of the District Institute for Animal Protection and Welfare (Idpyba). .
The flame would be alive

He also reported that the case is being investigated to confirm the situation, since it is presumed that the llama is still alive.
In an interview with City TV, Angélica Angarita expressed: “We are doing an articulate investigation, we have the presumption that the animal would be alive. We are carrying out the crossings with the Secretariat of Government and Security and the Cultural Block of the Bank of the Republic to carry out this verification,” he said.
